LAB81®, in collaboration with director Valentino Bedini, has created the music video for Cesare Cremonini's latest single, "Colibrì".
The dreamlike journey of a hummingbird is narrated through reflected images and suggestions projected into Cesare’s mind. The flight of this tiny bird, generating life, coexists the surreal and dreamy world with the real one. The 3D animation is enhanced by the filming technologies used, such as the Bolt Cinema Robot and the Laowa ultra-macro lens. The idea behind the 3D was to use volumetric filaments inspired by Cesare’s iris, creating the environments for the various subjects’ settings.
“Colibrì” once again confirms Cesare Cremonini’s artistic freedom and the quality of his music. He is an artist who likes to operate within a very personal range, allowing him to grasp the rules, learn them, and then bend them to his inspiration, in a continuous challenge to the song form.
The image of the hummingbird, representing the love for life, courage, and perseverance in many cultures, accompanies Cesare’s voice in the song. The lyrics describe a girl, a symbol of virginity and rediscovered purity, reaching a present-day metropolis guided by her flight.
